Description | The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is the second largest ambulance trust in England, providing services to a population of seven million people across a geographical area of approximately 5,400 square miles. The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides a 24 hour, 365 days a year emergency service to those people in need of emergency medical treatment. We also provide a non-emergency service known as the Patient Transport Service. We have 109 ambulance stations across the North West, one headquarters, four area offices, three emergency operations centres, one support centre, two patient transport control rooms and two HART buildings. The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust was established on 1 July 2006, by the merger of ambulance trusts from Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire. |
